Out Beyond Ideas

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn’t make any sense.

~ Rumi translated by Coleman Barks From Essential Rumi

  1. This was one of my favorites. I am curious if you pick these out each day as well as selecting the picture. I really appreciate reading these. Susan McCann

    1. Hi Susan, I usually start out picking a poem or prose that reflects what I am thinking about and then I actually spend more time in finding the right picture that, in my mind, captures the quote. Some days are easier than others. Thanks for asking. This is my fifth year. Thought about stopping but it’s part of my daily routine at this point
