Lost

“Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you. ”

  1. Lovely, Bill. I hope that you and your family are safe with all this horrible flooding that’s been happening….

    • Dr Bill says:

So far, so good. We made it through the flooding. Many didn’t do as well with over 11+ inches of rain in certain area of Houston. I wasn’t able to get to the Texas Medical Center where I work yesterday but did today. I’ve never seen weather like this and hope that I never do. Thanks Lori for checking. Bill

      • Just saw this reply, Bill, somehow missed it earlier. Soo very glad to hear that you and yours are safe and sound. My family is all in the San Antonio/Boerne area, and while they’ve been drenched, thankfully they, too, are all ok. Take good care….
