Hearts and minds

The only reason we don’t open our hearts and minds to other people is that they trigger confusion in us that we don’t feel brave enough or sane enough to deal with. To the degree that we look clearly and compassionately at ourselves, we feel confident and fearless about looking into someone else’s eyes. ”

  1. Dr. Bill, So very true. How do we change? I fear that for change to happen one must first recognize it’s need. For recognition to happen one needs to ask and search for answers. When one is comfortable with their life, questions are never asked. Change in this world can only happen when our boat is rocked. But if we never put that boat in water, it never moves and is not rocked. So many – including me! – of us talk about what needs to happen in this world and even why it doesn’t, but it appears that none of us really know how to make it happen on a scale large enough to make serious world change. We ask questions and propose thoughts but when they are read and not recognized or passed over completely, change never comes. Confidence comes from stepping out of our comfort zone, asking questions we don’t understand, doing something new, and becoming creative even if it is wrong to start with. One can not walk on water unless they step out of the boat that they put in the water.

Thanks for your blog today. It is thought provoking and mind stirring! A topic I have given a lot of thought too the last few days.
