Life is about your soul

“Life is about your soul, not about your body and not about your mind. Most people work hard to keep the body happy. Then they seek to stimulate their mind. Then… if there is time… they look after their soul. Yet the most beneficial priority has it just the other way around… When was the last time you paid attention to your soul?” ~ Neale Donald Walsch

  1. I love this thought and the photo! When we see someone in a yoga pose we think it is about the body and the external, but the true meaning of yoga is “union”. Union of the mind body and spirit so we can connect with our soul and the divine spark within us.

  3. 100%, balance is not a word we hear too often, we use it in reference to our bank acounts mostly, check out the image of the man in the sky, it’s on my blog, the big guy in the sky is moving too, amen

  4. There is nothing much a Soul can do with a constantly ailing Body and there is nothing much a Body can do with disconnection or neglect of its Soul. My Soul has always been my prime consideration but in action i have mostly succumbed to the demands and dictates of physical Life and it has not paid…
When the Soul becomes part of the Body and the Body part of the Soul then that will be like a more reciprocal marriage relationship. One wonders why the separation in the first place or is it just an illusion that a separateness exists other than in the focusing of the individual? And if the focusing becomes more balanced what would that really mean? A healthier human being? A happier one? How many elements must be combined and present to experience just the two seemingly elemental i.e healthy and happy?… That’s the start of my meditation for today…

  5. I agree that life is about the soul, and if (and when) we are able to connect the three we achieve a small degree of perfection. One might say therefore that we tend to the needs of the soul in order to direct the mind, which in turn controls the body by such things as self-control, perseverance and virtue in the sense of promoting excellence. Virtue in this sense is never a passive virtue of goodness, but a quality that combines goodness with strength and power and which brings out the best (excellence) that is within us. When the body is thus controlled by the mind, it reciprocates by feeding the soul with such things as learning, teaching, beautiful thoughts, compassion, prayer and praise of the Father for who He is instead of what He does for us. .
