My fourth nomination for the WordPress Family Award is to Marina Artemis Kanavak at http://marinakanavaki.com/home/  whose blog, “ Art Towards a Happy Day”  shares her art and design. She never fails to amaze and impress me with her creativity. While many express themselves with words, Marina does it with a brush.   As you can see in the image below.

“Whether success or failure: the truth of a life really has little to do with its quality. The quality of life is in proportion, always, to the capacity for delight. The capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention.” ~ May Sarton

“Some things don’t last forever, but some things do. Like a good song, or a good book, or a good memory you can take out and unfold in your darkest times, pressing down on the corners and peering in close, hoping you still recognize the person you see there.” ~ Sarah Dessen, This Lullaby

Divine beauty

“The world into which we are born is brutal and cruel, and at the same time of divine beauty. Which element we think outweighs the other, whether meaninglessness or meaning, is a matter of temperament. If meaninglessness were absolutely preponderant, the meaningfulness of life would vanish to an increasing degree with each step in our development. But that is or seems to me not the case. Probably as in all metaphysical questions, both are true; life is or has meaning and meaninglessness. I cherish the anxious hope that meaning will be preponderate and win the battle.” ~ Carl Jung

Aliveness

“Aliveness is energy. It’s the juice, the vitality, and the passion that wakes up our cells every morning. It’s what makes us want to dance. It’s the energy that moves a relationship from the status quo to something grander and much more expansive, something that makes our hearts beat faster, our minds, and our eyes open wider than ever before. Everything is of interest to a person who is truly alive, whether it’s a challenge, a loving moment, a bucket of grief, or a glimpse of beauty”. ~ Daphne Rose Kingma

“How easily we can forget how precious life is!  So long as we can remember, we’ve just been here, being alive.  Unlike other things for which we have a good comparison -  black to white, day to night, good to bad — we are so immersed in life that we can see it only in the context of itself. We don’t see life as compared to anything, to not-being, for example, to never having been born. Life just is. But life itself is a gift.

It’s a compliment just being born: to feel, breathe, think, play, dance, sing, work, make love, for this particular lifetime. Today, let’s give thanks for life. For life itself. For simply being born!”

~ Daphne Rose Kingma,  A Grateful Heart

“Don’t pretend to be what you are not, don’t refuse to be what you are. Your love of others is the result of self-knowledge, not its cause. Without self-realization, no virtue is genuine. When you know beyond all doubting that the same life flows through all that is and you are that life, you will love all naturally and spontaneously.”~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

“Love is the total absence of fear. Love asks no questions. Its natural state is one of extension and expansion, not comparison and measurement.” ~ Gerald Jampolsky

Flow

“There is one aspect of happiness that’s been well studied, and it’s the notion of flow. Ask yourselves, when for you does time stop? When are you truly at home, wanting to be no place else?”  ~ Martin Seligman
